What is fibreglass or GRP?
GRP stands for glass fibre reinforced plastic and is an amazingly versatile and strong material that can be used for many applications.
What is the Manufacturing method?
Gelcoat of the colour of the customers choosing, is first applied to a mould and allowed to harden, then polyester resin and layers of glass fibre matting are hand laid into the mould which is then hand rolled to squeeze any air out, this is also allowed to harden. The back is then given a resin coating of a specified colour, this will protect the reverse of the sign from any weathering issues.
What is Gelcoat?
Gelcoat is the hard plastic coating used to provide a high quality durable gloss finish on the visible outer surface of GRP.
What colours do you stock?
We can supply sign blanks within our range of RAL colour pigments that we have in stock, if we don’t have it, we can order in a pigment to suits your needs, (there may be a short lead time).
How do I fix a sign blank to a wall or posts?
Sign blanks can be fitted in a variety of ways, commonly when fitting to a wall, battens are screwed into the masonry first to fit within the frame of the sign, the sign is slid over the battens and screwed into position from the side of the frame.
They can also be supplied with brackets for post mounting or rail if this type of fixing is needed.
What are your Lead times?
We aim to dispatch all our sign blanks within 7 working days of receipt of order, if it is urgent we will endeavour to deliver sooner.
Is it possible to supply a sign outside of the range dimensions?
In certain cases it may be possible to tailor a sign to size, or several signs can be tailored together into an extra long sign blank with joints where necessary.
